HABITAT Mountainous forest, semi-desert and rocky slopes
DIET Large birds, variety of small and medium mammals, rabbits and hares, roe deer fawns, young foxes, hedgehogs, frogs, newts, crabs and farmyard cats
STATUS Widespread, but everywhere scarce, locally endangered
